Trying to get into this Brakes album, but it isn't sticking.  Maybe I need to give it a few more spins.  Maybe it's destined to go the way of the Pixies for me.

Been mostly a week of work.  Free GK12 lunch on Tuesday.  That was pretty awesome.  Watched the Omen later.  That was...pretty lame.  Haha.  Actually it wasn't that bad.  but it wasn't that good either.

hmm what else?  still haven't sold my car.

Moved the broken TV into a back room and brought my old one out again.  Got a TV in the living room now..the broken one had been there for like a month.  good times.  it needs a new power supply, I'm pretty sure.  Not sure if i want to bother trying to fix that.  Never opened a TV before.  High voltage and all.   I'm pretty bad with a soldering iron too.  Maybe it's clip on.

    not likely.

CFC LG tonight.  Hmm...taking notes next week.  Then going to SD for a week.  Hmm.

Ate a stack last night.  Good times.

Mustachefest was pretty awesome.  We played a great set.  Hopefully I can hear some audio from that sometime and get some pics to post.  I ended up leaving shortly after our set and got home (from Joliet) around midnight.  Had to be up early the next morning to sing at UAG.nn

I gave the message today at Excel.  That was definitely a new experience :)   It was pretty cool.  But I'm glad it's over for now - it was stressful preparing for it.

I suppose the band is going to start recording soon.  Unfortunately Cnote is out of town this weekend, and I'm gone from the 1st to the 9th, so I guess it'll have to wait till after that.

Burning some stuff off my computer now.  Massive amounts of MP3 albums.  Installation files from software I've aquired since getting getting the lappy.  I'm hoping to free back up about 10 GB.  Maybe more.  I have some other big files - the Sims 8-in-One de-luxe package.  A 4GB KJV that I'll never use or need.  Old 4400 episodes.  I probably still have the whole Firefly series too.  Yeah I can burn all that and get it off the HD.

Oh yeah, the new 4400 season has started.  First two episodes have been pretty crazy so far.  I can't believe it's been a year since season 2 ended.  I've totally forgotten so much stuff that's happened.  crazy!

Ok...gotta get an early start on tomorrow.  GK12 lunch at noon.  Good times.

    Ciao!

Ok...crazy story.  Totally crazy.  So, I use this online service called AllOfMP3.com to buy my music.  Ok, yeah the legality is a little sketchy - it's based in Russia and they have really fishy copyright laws.  And it's probably run by the mob.  Anyway, you pay by the megabyte ($0.02/MB), so most albums come out to about $1.  And they're copy-protection-free.  And you can choose your encoding rate, which can make them cheaper or more expensive.  I go with 160kbps.

ANYWAY....so yeah I hadn't been on in a few days, but last time I was there, everything was normal.  Bought the Margot album, good times.

About a week ago, I started reading an old Rolling Stone, from about 2 years ago, which lists the 500 greatest albums as voted on by, um, readers I think.  Yeah, it lists all 500 of them with a little blurb (or big blurb, in some cases) for ever one.  So, needless to say, it's a really thick issue.  So, I've been going through it slowly.  Most of the top 50 are older albums, and I was taking note of some albums I wanted to get.

So, fast forward to today.  I log in to AllOfMP3.com and, guess what new section they have!  The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time! You click it, and band, there they are, 1-500, with links to their normal location in allofmp3.com.  It doesn't actually say Rolling Stone's 500 greatest albums, but it's the list.  no doubt.

The crazy thing is that this wasn't there like a week ago, and this issue I've been reading is 2 years old, so it's not like a current thing that would be likely to just pop up like that.

Yeah...I think I'm going to be on the cover of Stupid Coincidence Magazine next month.  booya!

hahaha...the gross dog toy really seems to have made an impression.  Glad i could be of service.

Been having problems with one of the codes this week.  just when I thought everything was working, too.  so sad.

Have a bunch of meetings this week.  Meeting PT at 10.  bossman sometime in the afternoon.  CI tomorrow.

Oh, we've got a show tomorrow night, Canopy Club, 9PM.  Mustachefest on Saturday!  then i get to go back to being a babyface.  can't wait.

Ok I better get to programming.  Blech.

    Ciao

Took some pics out at the farm before Johnnyork rehearsal.  We scored so big in getting that farm to practice on.  Going over to Neil's to do an acoustic practice with him since his kid got sick yesterday and he couldn't make it.

IMC - doors open around 4pm.  $5.  BEAUTY SHOP.  Don't miss it.  Oh yeah...pics.

My credit card company's website is weird...all kinds of funky things show up in the "pending transactions" area.  I thought I had been double-charged for my camera b/c there was one completed transaction and then a totally separate pending one, for the same amount!  There was a $50 Cowboy Monkey charge in there last week and I peed my pants (a little) when I saw it!  But then it disappeared and was replaced by a $12 charge (the correct one).  OMG their garlic potatos are soooo good.  Hmm...garlic potatos.

Ugh I think I might be getting sick again.  I don't know what's wrong with me

I have some medicine left over from last time I got sick, so I took a flu pill last night, going to bed early in hopes of cutting off whatever was brewing.  But I woke up this morning with the familiar aches and chills.

It's the bird flu.  I'm sure of it.

Anyway, trying to make some more headway with my babies today (i.e., my "codes.").  Johnnyork rehearsal tonight, show tomorrow.  Gotta learn some praise songs too.  At least I have the CFC songbook to work with for now.

Going to go to the Hub later.  Maybe before rehearsal.

Yup, that's it for now.  Whereas some people write so infrequently that when they do write, you know it's important or they genuinely need to write, the majority of what hits paper (or keyboard) when  I speak is poop.

Wesley Crusher sucked.  Esepecially for letting that hot chick go and leaving with the weird dimension-shifting guy.  Remember his partner's "equations?"  yeah...Wesley sucked..

    This post was a total ctrl-c :)

Oooop...camera came in today.  It's kinda crazy though...will probably take me a day or two to get the hang of it.  I'll post some pics soon :)

I got my code working yesterday - figured out that I needed to tighten the tolerances on the solver.  That was a tough one to find.  There was also an insane accounting mistake I made with the chemistry...took a week to find and 10 seconds to fix.

Hah...there are good things about programming, I swear.

Been resting up, letting my voice heal.  Having a rehearsal tomorrow night and a show on Saturday.  Gonna be like 12 bands there, so we'll have a pretty short set.

We're playing with Beauty Shop, which is pretty huge. We gotta play a good set.  For such a short set, I'm wondering how new tunes will come out.  Still, we gotta play them sometime.  haha.

Ok back to L&O.    NO JOKE...the main suspect in a child abuse case is known as Coach D.  In fact, they just arrested him during a football game.  You hear that hillbillyboy?!  We're on to you!!!!  Ivy-league pederast.

    Ciao

This made me pee my pants (just a little):

This is the most ridiculous picture ever:

I built a little Flash-based media player for the band's site (which has had quite a few updates recently...check it out!), and hacked it to be a player for this site too.  Instead of JY songs, though (that would be kinda vain), I've just loaded in some random songs I really like.  It's up top, next to the guitar header.  I took out the little "contact me" box b/c I was getting spam from it.

Been working from home lately.  I get way more done here.   So far so good.

JY show on the 10th at IMC...been trying to take care of my voice after kinda losing it last weekend.  We're trying to do at least 3 new songs, two of which have no vocals yet.  So I need to get to work on that.

Im showing my old car to Char tonight....gotta clean it up and make it look pretty :)   Maybe she'll buy it!  Don't worry...I'll give her a discount b/c I know it needs some repairs.

JY's trying to get some new shirts for this weekend...we'll see if that goes down.  So far all the potential designs that have been flying between us via email have been only partially-approved.  We'll see what happens.

Have a good day everyone!  My camera should be here soon :)

    Ciao

Long day, but not because of research.  Dealt with all kinds of sidecrap.  Returned a camera I borrowed for the mock trial last week and caught hell for a missing cable that was never there to begin with.  Picked up a transcript and mailed it out to Arizona for a fellowship I've applied for.

Watching a marathon of Without a Trace.  great show. L&O caliber.   Hah never thought I'd say that.

"Big" 2-part episode's ending...they're playing Hallelujah, Jeff Buckey's version.  Incredible song.

Someone on the praise team was in the hospital so we're taking turns cooking dinner for her and her family this week.  Cooking my famous ziti now to drop off tomorrow.

Ok done for today.  Sorry...this was a lame update.  haha

    Ciao

Long band practice today.  Banged out 4 of our new songs and got them all sounding pretty good.  We'll most likely play 3 of them next Saturday, at our show at the IMC.  We're gonna have a Friday-night practice to polish things off - we might be playing with Beauty Shop, which means we have to have a good show.

Going to the Willis' for a BBQ, then probably sleeping early.  Singing all day tomorrow (it's the day of the Pentecost!), and I've been having some problems with my voice.  Hopefully I'm ok for tomorrow...it's important we sound good.

Started a trial run for Mustachefest.  If you've missed the boat on this one (or are a first-time reader :P ), my band's playing at a rock 'festival' called Mustachefest on the 17th, and, as you can probably guess, we all have to have mustaches.  So I'm doing a trial run right now, 4 days in.   I may shave tomorrow morning, depending on how it looks, since I don't want to look all nasty while singing.  That wouldn't be much of a blessing.  haha.

But I'll keep everyone posted on my progress.  so far...i'm on the fence about it.

My friend called me last night - the one I'm worried about.  He called kinda late and I missed his call.  I have to call him back.  Not sure what to expect...

    Ok I'm off to Willis'.

Thanks for the love Mikey.  I could use it right about now.

    Ciao
