Went to a birthday party for KCran last night.  It was at DRick's place, and he has a private lake in his backyard!  It was basically a fishing party.  Good times.

If I had a private lake in my backyard, I'd be fishing 24/7.  Actually, Rick gave me an open invite for whenever I want.  He may regret that.  Here are some pics (click for bigger ones).  As always, light inside was practically non-existant, so most of those sadly didn't come out.  I tried to filter the one of Kevin so I could get at least one in.  His kids are crazy-photogenic.  Mixed white/malaysian.  (malaysian? I think so...).  Sadly, none of the youngest came out good - she moves too fast!  Gotta get a better lens.

I went fishing on Friday with NeilJohnnyork, which was also good times.  I think we're gonna go again this Friday, and apparently the Diamond might come.  Diamond and I saw Fireflies on Saturday night, which was excellent.  Until Diamond got, um, food poisoning.  But, such is life.  My main man at Merryann's took care of us with some eggs and pancakes.  booya.

Ok back to work.  Putting the openloop coupling into the KCM today and tomorrow.  Need to read about Fortran90 file parsing.  Doing music at Excel alone tonight b/c CI and PinkI are both gone.   Meeting sohnzone for lunch soon.

    Ciao

Hmm...been a couple of days, eh?

The wedding on Saturday was fun.  Saw familiar faces, and lots of new ones.  I took a lot of pics (about 1300!) but culled it down to 50. They're online.

I've had a heachache for like 2 days now.  I'm not sure what's going on with me.  Hope it's not a tumor.  It was real bad Monday night, and it kept up while I slept that night.  I actually dreamed about it.  I took some tylenol in the morning, and I guess that helped.  I dunno.  I've been staring at my laptop a lot lately, so maybe that did it.  Who knows.

I got a ton to get done at work, but it's all very vague.  I basically have to learn how to use yet another code someone else wrote.  Sometimes i hate being a programmer.  haha .

Johnnyork is having a practice this evening!  An acoustic practice!  whoot!  Probably gonna be at the diamond's place.  Hope none of us lose an eye.

Ok gotta go.  Here are some pics from Saturday (click for bigger ones).  The rest are in that link above.  I'll update the media player soon - lots of good stuff coming through the Lonely Castle.

    Ciao

Got a few new albums today.  With those and the album I'm supposed to be reviewing, plus my Korean lessons, I'll be busy for awhile.

At at Woori Jib.  Good stuff .  Got something bigger than usual b/c the blood-donation lady told me to eat a big meal later.

Far be it from me to reject advice to eat a big meal.

Codes are actually working.  It's incredible.  But they're slow.  Incredible slow.  You just can't win...

    Ciao!

Gave blood today for the first time.  I don't feel any different.  I thought maybe I'd get woozy or something, but I feel fine.

I'd always meant to give, but never got around to it.  I did it on a whim; I went to the Union to deposit some checks and saw the sign, and thought "why not?"

Hung out w/ our bassist last night.  Good times.  JY needs to start playing again!  And stop playing so much WOW.   haha.

I have a record to review for OpeningBands by the end of the month.  It's...a little rough.  I think it's going to be a hard review to write.

Ahh well.  Have a good one.  And thanks for all the nice comments :)

Waiting at the Post Office suxx.

Almost bought a Xbox360 last night...there was an insane deal on Slickdeals ($308 shipped for the Platinum system).  I got all the way to the last button and bailed before clicking b/c I realized that I don't need it.  I need to save my money.  not sure what for, but, for something I'm sure.

I need a new amp, for one thing.

I have a record to review for OpeningBands by the end of the month.  Going over to my guitarist's place to pick it up this evening. Bringing my guitar - we're gonna play a bit.  It's been so long since Johnnyork has met as a band!  We have a show in August.  I'm sure we'll start everything back up again soon.  It was a good time for a break, I suppose.

I loaded a crapload more songs into the media player and updated some features.  Check it out (it's also in the header)

    1. Regina Spektor - Samson

    2. Coheed & Cambria - The Suffering

    3. Neah Lee - Today

    4. Margot and the Nuclear So&So's - Quiet as a Mouse

    5. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Dudley

    6. Jeff Buckley- Hallelujah

    7. Cat Power - Lived in Bars

    8. The Frey - Hundred

    Anyway, back to work.

    Ciao

I feel weird this morning.  Like...warm.  I hope I'm not coming down with something.

FF12 will come out in October, the last FF for PS2.  Then FF13 comes out on PS3, which looks totally wicked. Good times.

The task of learning and remembering simple vocabulary in Korean is daunting.  I can't imagine what people go through when they come here and have to learn English.  I have so much respect for people that do that.

    New phone coming today.  Excited

    Oh...happy birthday to me

  • 8:20 AM (CST)

Things worked out ok with the car.  Turns out that the jiffylube people unplugged something important.  So now that's fine.

Laptop is with the Geeksquad.  They'll probably have to replace the hard drive.

I'm sick and tired of my phone being a POS and being a hassle during my conversations, so I'm getting a new one today.  No more dragging my feet.

getting totally fat.  CJ's wedding doesn't look to be the great unveiling I'd hoped it'd be.

About as week into my honest attempt to learn Korean.  Making good progress.  Got some books to suppliment my audio program. The alphabet (hangul) isn't as hard as I thought it'd be.  good times.

There was a double-murder like three houses down from me while I was in S.Dakota.  Here's a news story about it.

    ok gotta get to work.

    Ciao

  • 12:23 PM (CST)

Sorry for the silence!  I was in South Dakota for a week on a construction trip w/ my church.  Got a wicked tan.  haha.

Having a streak of bad luck.  My laptop keeps crashing...I think something is wrong with Windows.  I backed up all my files, so I"m going to reinstall everything later this afternoon.

Also, my car died!  the new one!  On my way to church this morning.  The Check Engine light had come on yesterday, right after I got the oil changed, so I planned to take it in tomorrow morning.  But this morning, a couple more lights came on about a block from my house and the car wouldn't accellerate, so I coasted to the curb and walked back to my house to pick up the Cavallier.  No matter that I sold it and it's technically not mine anymore.  All I knew was that I was late for sound check and Char is still storing the car at my house.

I later found out that the car has no insurance right now.  Good thing I didn't get pulled over.  Later I walked back to my car and managed to get it back to my house.  I guess I'll get it towed to the CarX tomorrow and have them check it out.  I hope it's not too expensive.

Watched Hustle and Flow last week - pretty good.  Watched the new Pirates of the Carribean yesterday - also pretty good.  Just relaxing for now, plotting what to do about the car.

There are some pics I took during the trip below.

    Ciao
