Well…it’s been quite some time eh?  I suppose by now it’s no secret that I have another blog.  Of course, I haven’t been updating that one as much either.

You know what’s happened?  Facebook has taken over my life.  And I didn’t even mean it to.  It’s just that I get an email every time someone blinks.  It’s not my fault, really.

This week gave me two opportunites to go fishing.  I went to Homer lake, which is beautiful, but has awful fishing.  I’m in search of a better spot.  Neil and I went to a bunch of places last year, and only one of them seemed really good.  And it wasn’t as serene – lots of boats coming and going.

Any fisherman will tell you – it’s really about the peace and quite more than catching fish. Well, except maybe the hungry fisherman.  Still, it’s nice to catch fish.  I throw em back, mostly b/c the lake water around here is nasty from fertilizer run-off and I wouldn’t want to eat anything I caught.  I learned to gut a fish last year, but I’ve had no practice, so it’d probably be a horror show if I tried to clean a catch anyway.

This has been an interersting summer.  Freddie and I have grown closer, and are pretty excited about what the future has.  Freddie is a girl by the way.  haha. I still call her “Lynette” to my parents because I don’t want to freak them out.

A friend recently wrote something about being careful not to always say “I’m do xxxx tomorrow” and “I can’t wait for xxxxx,” as if where we are right now isn’t important.  Things that need to be done should be done.  everyone who’s ever had a late bill or missed birthday knows that.  Now matters.  Anyone who’s been reevaluating their life, like me, knows that too.

I just had a birthday, which was cause for much introspection.  It is every year, but this past year seems to have brought more changes than most.  A lot of my friends graduated, moved away, or vanished into cyberspace.  Some old ones have resurfaced thanks to Facebook.  So, maybe it was an even-stephen year?  How was your year?  I guess that question only makes sense on your birthday.  Or maybe on the first of the year.

I’m thinking about jobs now.  I had an interview last month that went well, but I suppose I wasn’t their man.  Actually, I really wasn’t their man.  I kinda knew it going in.  Still, I had been hopeful b/c it had gone so well.  That job found me.  Now it’s my turn to do the work.

I suppose I’ll do it tomorrow.

    Ciao.

Ok just to spite freddie, here’s a fresh post!

Big Johnnyork show tonight.  Whoot!  still not sure who’s working the door though.  Aiya.

Went out to Springfield last night to see JCS with Freddie.  it was awesome!

    Easter weekend.  Good times!

what else…hmmm…lots of new music lately.  over the last month or two.

Kings of Leon, Feist, Idlewild, Field Music, Modest Mouse, The Bird and the Bee, Arcade Fire, Kaiser Chiefs, Aerogramme, Bestnard Lakes, Explosions in the Sky, Lodger, Voxtrot, Heartless Bastards (ok…that’s 2 years old…)

Big developments at work.  Might actually gradumacate one day.

Drinking a diet coke.  my leg hurts.  good and bad times.

    Ciao!

Hey all!  Yeah,= it’s been awhile.  I guess I had my emotional outburst below but, other than that, not a whole lot coming from ole’ mohan37.  The situation from below…well…it persists, but what can I do?

Yup it’s been awhile!  haha.  so, we need your support for this show.  Mark your calendars now.  Gonna be hot :)

Hey all!  Yeah, it’s been awhile.  I guess I had my emotional outburst below but, other than that, not a whole lot coming from ole’ mohan37.  The situation from below…well…it persists, but what can I do?

Work’s been going ok I guess.  I got about 8 or 9 months left, and the real work is about to begin.

i feel like it’s always about to begin.  when will it actually begin?

going to minnesota with freddie to spend xmas with her family.  i was up there for thanksgiving, so I’ve already met them all.  good times.  out on the farm.  we might go to minneapolis too.  we’ll see.  the hutch awaits.

Johnnyork was offered a show last week but we had to turn it down, sadly, b/c we couldn’t all get together. at least it shows people still remember us. we’ll definitely be up and at’om again soon, I’m sure.

    i hope.

i dunno.  i do know i miss my band :(

what else?  oo i got a Mod’ed XBOX from my friend who didn’t want it anymore.  I’ve been playing Halo2 and Call of Duty 3 a lot.  also, the modchip operating shell can read emulators, so I have NES, SNES, and N64 emulators along with a million ROMS.  The emulators were built specifically for mod’ed XBOXes, so they work really well.  and 4-player games should work perfectly with just plugging the controllers in.

man…bittorrent is awash with new xbox games.  along with call of duty 3, I also got the new Splinter Cell game.

all this in the middle of FFXII.  I’ve got too much going on to have so much video gamery at my disposal.

ok i’m done.  love you all : )

    Ciao!

Hey all!  Man it’s been a hella long time, huh?  Not quite two months, at least :)   Funny how someone can go from, like, 5 posts a day to 2 months of silence.

Anyway, sorry for that.  I’ve definitely been around and been  busy with stuff, so I’ve had an excuse, i suppose.

So…what have I been up to?  Hmm

Work’s been crazy.  Things aren’t really working, but time is passing me by and progress is expected by my bosses.  not the best situation to be in.

I was learning Korean for awhile; didn’t excactly stop, but have taken a break since things got busier.  I was making pretty good progress though.  Learned the alphabet and started building up my vocab.

Back in May I was asked to lead the band at a new church service my church was starting, and that begun on September 10th.  It’s been crazy being part of a new service…it’s almost like planting a church.  It’s at a totally separate site from UAG (The HUB on Springfield and Gregory), and we have the actual sermon broadcast on video.  but everything else is live, including the music, which is what I’m in charge of.  Had to build up a band, learn a bunch of songs with them, etc etc.  It’s been really good though.  Things are growing, slowly but surely!

11AM, Sunday’s, at the HUB.  Come see me play crazy worship music :)   Stay for coffee and a donut.  or 3.   http://www.urbanaassembly.org/hub.html

Been listening to tons of music, as usual.  September and October were good months.  new Beck, Decemberists, Killers, Pernice Brothers, Joseph Arthur, and lots of other crazy stuff.  Good times.

Well, this is the most I’ve written in months, so I’ll turn in here.  Hopefully I’ll be back tomorrow :)

    Ciao!

Busy weekend.  Johnnyork show on Saturday went well.  Having rehearsal that afternoon and then playing that night was rough though – it felt like I played two shows.  We had 4 groupies!  whoot!  Went to Merry Anns with the band after, and everyone except me got something covered in cheese:

Earlier in the afternoon, before our show, I went to the Urbana Sweetcorn Festival with Neil, our bassist, and met a couple of our friends, including our drummer, down there.  We watched Living Blue play – I’ve been seeing them steadily play around town for 4 years now.  They used to be called the Blackouts.  Honestly, I liked them better years ago, maybe b/c so much was new to me, or maybe because they actually sounded a little less professional/weary :

Getting up for church on Sunday was a little rough b/c we didn’t get from MA’s till kinda late, but it worked out.

Watched Finding Nemo yesterday, which was pretty funny actually.  er, preeeeeetttttyyyy funnnnnnyyyyyy.  My friend Darla is even in the movie:

Ooo first Excel of the semester tonight.  7PM, at the HUB on Springfield, one block west of Lincoln.

    Ciao (on my moterbyke!)

Loaded a new song into the player.  Silversun Pickups, as promised.   Has a slowed intro, but ride it through…it picks up.  Oh man and it’s got a delicious dis-re-assemble near the end.  Also, listen carefully to what that Siamese Dream-esque fuzzed/layered guitar is actually doing.   A perfect song.  Give a listen.  The whole album holds up like this.

    I’ve actually updated the player bigtime.  Here’s a complete track-listing.  Enjoy :)

    2. Imogen Heap – Goodnight and Go

    3. Muse – Starlight

    4. Keane – Leaving So Soon?

New Silversun Pickups album…incredible!  They sound like Siamese Dream-era Pumpkins.  in a good way.  I’ll put a song in the player – i just have to pick one.  I feel 15 again.  In a good way :P

Went to the Hub today.  good times.  It’d been awhile.

Trying Body by Friz, which apparently calls for me eating 6 high-protein meals per day.  I’m thinking McD’s, KFC, woori jib, pizza hut, hot wok, and forthmeal.  can’t wait to start losing weight.  haha.

Listening to all kinds of music.  Imogen Heap.  Angels and Airwaves.  Muse.  Coheed.  Good times.

Here are some pics i took at the retreat. Sorry I’m not in any of them!  i’m always the only ones taking pics :P

Oi back in another two-day GK12 meeting.  At least today we’re on the first floor of the Union, so I’ve got wireless.  Going to be a crazy week.  Meeting yesterday and today.  TA Orientation Fascillitation (w/ steeeevo) tomorrow and Thursday, and then the Excel leaders retreat thursday-saturday.  I’m having to do my normal work at night b/c my days are getting eaten up.

Been listening to the new Muse nonstop….it’s out of control.
